Publication Ethics

JoSSA is committed to maintaining high standards of integrity, transparency, accountability, and ethical conduct in scholarly publishing. The journal follows internationally recognized principles of publication ethics and expects editors, reviewers, authors, and the publisher to uphold responsible research and publication practices.

Responsibilities of Editors. Editors are responsible for evaluating manuscripts objectively and fairly based on their scientific merit, originality, relevance, methodological quality, and conformity with the scope of the journal. Editorial decisions must not be influenced by authors' nationality, institutional affiliation, gender, religion, political views, or other personal characteristics. Editors must protect manuscript confidentiality and disclose potential conflicts of interest.

Responsibilities of Reviewers. Reviewers must provide objective, constructive, evidence-based, and timely assessments. Information obtained through peer review must remain confidential and must not be used for personal advantage. Reviewers must disclose conflicts of interest and decline assignments for which they cannot provide an impartial assessment.

Responsibilities of Authors. Authors must submit original work, accurately report research methods and findings, appropriately acknowledge relevant sources, and disclose funding and potential conflicts of interest. Fabrication, falsification, plagiarism, duplicate publication, inappropriate authorship, citation manipulation, and other forms of research or publication misconduct are unacceptable.

All individuals listed as authors must have made substantial contributions to the work and must approve the submitted and final versions of the manuscript.

Where research involves human participants, animals, biological materials, or other activities requiring ethical approval, authors must comply with applicable ethical and institutional requirements.

The use of generative artificial intelligence or AI-assisted technologies must be transparently disclosed where applicable. AI tools cannot be listed as authors and authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, integrity, and validity of the submitted work.

Suspected misconduct will be investigated by the editorial team. Appropriate actions may include requesting clarification, correction, rejection, retraction, or other editorial measures according to the nature and severity of the case.
